Item Get!!!

I woke up late today for some reason. Usually I get up so early. Anyway, after getting up, I walked about for a bit, then remembered I was going to go to Nook's Cranny and check if there were any items to catch those pesky floating packages with. No such luck; All Nooky had to offer in the "useful items" section was a watering can, fishing rod (both of which I already possess) and a shovel. Although I was a bit disappointed at his lack of useful items, the shovel seemed like a bargain - 500 bells - so I bought that.

First thing I did after leaving Nook's was search for anything I could dig up. I hadn't raised my hopes, so imagine my surprise when I found fossils buried here and there in the town. I was surprised I only needed to dig up such a small amount of earth in order to extract them. What's strange is that wherever there was something buried underground, there were cracks on the surface. I took a mental note of this to make finding fossils easier. What's even more peculiar is that I was able to fit them in my pockets before handing them over to Blathers, the sole worker at the museum. He is an amazing person, despite the fact he is an owl, and was able to tell me exactly what I had dug up in a matter of seconds! SECONDS!! In the end, he took them off my hands and put them on display for all the residents of Dera Noo to observe. If I may say, the museum was a laughing stock before I showed up, with NO EXHIBITS on show. However, I have already in my two days living here been able to add bugs, fish, and fossils to it, making it a bit more presentable.

Back to my debt for a para; I have managed to pay off my mortgage in full! I was so pleased, I went to tell Nooky the good news, and have now somehow acquired an even larger debt. This happened because I greedily accepted his offer of a bigger house. But my current one is just so small... I have decided, since I need no food or water, I would have too much money on me and nothing to spend it on, so in a way it is quite sensible to make my home more habitable. I make quite a lot of bells by selling fish and such anyway, so it's not as if the mortgage will be a problem to me.

I went to the local tailor's shop for the first time yesterday. I thought nothing of it at the time, but after visiting a second time today, I feel that there is something just a little strange about the women working there, apart from their being hedgehogs, of course. Why do I think this? Well, one of them - Mable, I think her name is - was very extroverted and encouraged me to buy or make a design, whereas the other one - was her name... Sable? - was the pure opposite, never speaking, never moving, just sitting at that sewing machine all the time; I intend to investigate these two very carefully over the next few days in order to find out more about them.
