"Dera Noo," I told him. After a few minutes, the bus came to an abrupt halt, and I was left with no option but to vacate the vehicle.
After walking off of the bus and onto the soft ground of Dera Noo, I made my way to the Town Hall, as instructed to do by Rover. Once there, I was informed that there were four houses available to buy, and this gave me a new mission; to find the one I liked most. I decided to buy the one nearest the local store, purely for convenience. It turns out the owner of the store, "Nook's Cranny", which was Tom Nook, also dealt with property sales. He greeted me, but I couldn't help staring at him. You see, he was an animal, but he could talk! I think he was a Tanooki (bit like a raccoon in appearance). He sold me the house and I began working for him to pay off my mortgage.
He didn't give me any demanding work, and all I ended up doing was delivering some letters and items to the residents of the town, and also planting flowers outside his shop. After doing these simple errands, I was no longer needed, and I retired early. I have not finished paying off my mortgage, though. I guess I will have to find some other way to culminate the cash I require. This shouldn't be too hard, since I haven't gotten the urge to eat or drink since waking up today. I can't think of an explanation for this, but it does mean I can sell the fruit I pick from the trees instead of wasting them on myself.
*******************
I have been picking and selling pears (the only fruit that seems to grow in this weird place) all day, and managed to save up enough to buy my very own fishing rod. Along with this, I also bought a bug-catching net and a watering can. I have discovered my inate ability to catch bugs and fish with little effort, and have already caught a bagworm, a carp, a crucian carp, a red snapper, a pike (it's huuuge!!), a goldfish, and a pond smelt. After visiting the museum I found it to be awfully empty, and so donated everything I caught. Then, I caught some of the same fish a second time, which allowed me to sell them for more bells - bells being the form of currency they use here.
There were a couple of strange floating parcels in the air above me today. Infuriatingly, they were just out of reach. Perhaps Nook will be selling something tomorrow which I can use to get these mysterious packages.

I made a shocking discovery - all the residents of this town, excluding myself, are animals of some sort. I am so confused. I thought animals were unable to speak in our language, but here they are, speaking in english, and they understand what I say as well. Sometimes I think I must be dreaming or something...
As if this is not peculiar enough, I found something else strange. It was snowing, so I made a snowman. I thought he looked rather good in terms of the size of the body and head, but he suddenly CAME TO LIFE and criticised my work. I swore at him and walked away. I was so angry, I shook a tree, but had to run for safety as a wasps' bike fell out of it and a swarm of wasps chased me.
I am so tired by today's hectic activities, I think I will have an early night. Goodnight, all, and I will see what strangeness occurs tomorrow.
